"Claw"

Our "Claw" can be used in various areas. With the "Claw" we have already removed well over 300 crows' nests from the treetops.

The "Claw" is used by us mainly for removing crows' nests from tree tops. It has a dead weight of 7 kg and a bite force of 40 kg. In the belly of the "Claw" is a special camera, which is transmitted live to the monitor. This camera is used to check whether there are already eggs in the nests before each recovery. If this is the case, the recovery is immediately aborted.

The salvage claw is also used for gardening work (steep slopes), viticulture, forestry work, etc.

Crow nest removal must be planned early. Typically, they begin in mid-January and continue until just before egg laying in late March. The removal should be continuous.

Safety is also the top priority here. Large-scale barriers in the flight corridor for pedestrians, joggers and cyclists are unavoidable. In cooperation with the flight helper, it must be ensured that no flights are carried out as long as there are people in the danger zone.

New method of scaring away tested in 2022

Eagle Eye® Solutions GmbH is specialized in the deterrence of crows. In February 2022 we were able to start a new trial in Bremgarten (AG) and test a new method. Together with the municipality we worked out a new trial in a three-pillar concept. Planned were 15 days of operation on the part of Eagle Eye® Solutions. Since various things had to be considered on site, we flew only half days at a time. In the meantime, the municipality had removed the nests from the treetops. After a total of 6 missions, we were able to determine that all the crows had disappeared. They now stayed on the banks of the river Reuss, where they no longer bother anyone.

Conclusion: It worked. Until today, February 2023, no more crows stayed on the market place and the schoolhouse area. They are now on the banks of the Reuss and feel comfortable there.

In 2021, together with the municipality of Kaiseraugst (AG), we conducted the world's first trial to remove crows' nests from the treetops using a drone. After this successful trial, we systematically removed nests again and again during three weeks until egg laying.

In parallel, we also removed over 80 nests in Allschwil (BL) at the Bachgraben sports facility.

This is the first attempt to salvage something in 2020 with the prototype "Claw". This video shows 1:1 how it works. The "Claw" can therefore be used for various purposes.
