Drones are not only available in the air, but also in the element of water. New at Eagle Eye® Solutions is the diving drone "Sea-Claw". With the "Sea-Claw" we can perform inspections and also salvage operations. The search for lost objects by means of metal detection is also possible, as we have a special permit (Cantonal Office for Archaeology) for detection in shallow water as well as in deep water in various cantons.

Eagle Eye Solutions GmbH und Tethys Robotics

The strategic cooperation with Tethys Robotics, a start-up from ETH Zurich, will result in exciting synergies for both sides. In future, Eagle Eye Solutions GmbH will offer services with the underwater drone from Tethys Robotics. In addition, Tethys Robotics will support the processing of collected image and sonar data for Eagle Eye Solutions GmbH.

Areas of application for the "Sea-Claw

Lost jewelry?

Every year, jewelry and valuables worth around 2.4 million Swiss francs are lost in Swiss waters, according to insurance companies. About 1.8% of these are recovered. With our diving drone, we can track down your lost jewelry for you with a metal detector on the bottom and also recover it. For this reason, we have received permission from various cantonal archaeological offices to carry out search work with the metal detector in shallow and deep water.

Underwater Archaeology

Very gentle operations in underwater archaeology can be carried out without large swirls of mud, as a 4K camera and 12,000 lumens of light provide perfect live images to the operational vehicle. Objects can be measured by laser directly with the Sea-Claw to +-0.1mm accuracy.

Underwater work

With our diving drone "Sea-Claw" we can perform various underwater works. Before a diver is deployed, we can make a professional analysis of the underwater conditions to facilitate the dive.
With the "Sea-Claw", we can take seabed slag samples up to a depth of 180 m and water samples up to a depth of 210 m. This serves to control lake bottoms contaminated by explosive deposits.

  • Inspections of port facilities, power lines, offshore platforms, etc.
  • Bow inspections of yachts, tankers, passenger ships, ferries, etc.
  • Surveys for underwater archaeology or geology
  • Accompaniment of diver missions
  • Search and recovery of items such as e-scooters, etc.
  • Seawater pipes and strainers inspection

Applications with Tethys Robotics

  1. The underwater drone system from Tethys Robotics allows inspection and testing work in rough waters and enables automated mapping in very poor visibility and 3D modeling with high resolution thanks to low-light cameras, sonar and localization sensors:
  • - AI-assisted perception
  • - Mapping of the topography
  • - Target localization accurate to cm

In addition, the robot supports a large number of additional sensors

(conductivity, temperature, depth, pH, metal detector, wall thickness, etc.) that make it possible to capture any type of data and add it to the generated 3D models.

3D Modeling

Sample 3D modeling of a sunken boat loaded with marble slabs in Lake Zurich using camera and sonar data:

  • - Deployment incl. recording: 30min
  • - Detailed 3D reconstruction: 1h

Mission vehicle:

We can control the diving drones from our control centre in the vehicle and monitor them from the vehicle if necessary (depending on the weather).

The entire power supply for all devices in the vehicle is ENVIRONMENTALLY, because we are equipped with solar technology. For this reason, we are not dependent on an external power supply and thus always and everywhere ready for use.

Caution stowaways

Introduced animals and plants can harm life under water. That is why it is important to follow some rules of conduct when doing water sports and fishing.

&

Tiefenstein AG

Eagle Eye® Solutions works closely with the company Tiefenstein AG in the area of underwater work, sales and maintenance. On the Lake Zurich, the Lake Lucerne and the Lake Zug Eagle Eye® Solutions represents the system and also performs maintenance with our "Sea-Claw".

In many lakes in Switzerland, a massive spread and infestation with the Quagga mussel can already be observed. This mussel clogs within shortest time the drinking water and energy production plants in the lakes.

This is the latest Seiher system that really works against the quagga mussel.

The manufacturer of this soaker system is the company Tiefenstein AG from Horn on Lake Constance. For almost 35 years, Mr. Erwin Rudolf from Tiefenstein AG has been dealing with underwater work. Now he has also declared war on the Quagga mussel. Since approx. 6 years the first strainer plants are in the Bodensee in enterprise and this with good success.

Almost any plant can be converted cost-effectively by means of minor modifications.

Millions of dollars worth of new seawater pipeline construction is not necessary, as existing pipelines can continue to be used if they are still in good condition.
